Dettagli
Organized with the goal of uniting music and legality, the festival was held with the support of the association “Legality is Freedom”, chaired by Valeria Grasso, and addressed socially and culturally significant themes. The project focused on the importance of combating crime and fostering territorial revitalization through impactful events like this. Among the highlights was a fundraiser for the restoration of a ship seized from the mafia, destined to become a school for young people in the area.
Peggy Gou’s performance attracted thousands of people, creating an electrifying and engaging atmosphere. Amid electronic sounds and breathtaking stage designs, the festival offered a unique experience in a location of immense historical and scenic value. The DJ lit up the night in Selinunte with a selection of tracks ranging from her hits like Starry Night to the underground sounds that have made her an icon in the world of electronic music.
The audience, immersed among millennia-old columns and hypnotic lights, enjoyed a magical evening where music bridged the gap between past and present. The flawless organization ensured a memorable experience, demonstrating how Sicily can be an ideal stage for internationally significant events.
The key role of communication
The Unlocked Festival not only shone for its flawless organization and musical energy but also for the power of the social message it conveyed. The event’s success was amplified by a well-structured and highly effective communication strategy.
Media support was crucial in amplifying the festival’s values and goals far beyond Selinunte. A total of 52 journalists and 61 national and international media outlets were involved. This extensive media involvement was managed through a strategic cycle of five press releases and a press conference, which helped generate significant attention for the event.
The result was extraordinary: 102 published articles, 9 interviews conducted, and coverage that echoed nationwide, enabling the festival to gain wide visibility and acclaim. The multi-channel approach allowed the festival to reach a diverse audience and raise awareness about important topics like legality while offering a world-class musical event.
Preserving the archaeological site: a priority
The Unlocked Festival had a significant impact not only musically and culturally but also in preserving a site of extraordinary archaeological importance like Selinunte. A crucial aspect of the project was ensuring that the ancient ruins and surrounding environment were not harmed in any way by the event setup.
Thanks to the deep technical knowledge of FACE’s engineers and surveyors, every logistical detail was meticulously planned. Temporary structures were made with lightweight, non-invasive materials, while the placement of equipment and lighting was carefully planned to avoid impacting the site’s stability. FACE’s experts worked closely with local authorities and archaeologists to comply with strict conservation regulations, ensuring the integrity of the historic heritage was preserved.
The combination of technological innovation and respect for the past made it possible to create an event that not only provided the audience with an unforgettable experience but also demonstrated how large-scale events can be successfully combined with the preservation of cultural heritage.
